Junie adopts Gemini Flash

Junie has updated its default coding model to Gemini 3.7 Flash, Google’s most capable Flash model for coding, now available at a 40% discount for a limited time. The model, integrated into Junie’s IDE plugin and CLI, outperforms its predecessor, Gemini 3.6 Flash, with significantly higher accuracy in resolving long-horizon software-engineering tasks (65.3% vs 49.0% on DeepSWE v1.1) and producing production-ready code (43.6% vs 34.4% on FrontierCode 1.1). Internal benchmarks from JetBrains show that Gemini 3.7 Flash matches the solve rate of the premium Sonnet-5 model at roughly a third of the cost per task. This update reduces manual oversight in everyday coding while offering substantial savings, making it a practical choice for developers.
