GitLab has launched custom compliance frameworks designed to streamline adherence to SOC 2 and other regulatory standards. These frameworks allow users to define control requirements once, enabling the platform to continuously verify compliance across projects. Available in GitLab Premium and Ultimate tiers, the frameworks automate checks for configurations such as static application security testing (SAST), branch protection, and merge request approvals, reducing the manual effort typically associated with audits. Templates, including one for SOC 2, can be applied directly from GitLab's Compliance Center, minimizing setup time and errors.
