DIY Motorized Welding Turntable Uses Arduino for Precision Control

Greenhill Forge developed an Arduino-controlled motorized turntable to improve weld quality on circular objects. The system uses an Arduino UNO Rev3 to precisely control rotation speed via a stepper motor with gear reducer, while a rotary encoder and OLED display allow welders to set and monitor speeds. Key design considerations included maintaining stable current flow through a dedicated ground path and preventing cable tangling during rotation. This solution addresses common welding challenges when working with round workpieces where maintaining consistent hand position is difficult.
