Raspberry Pi Launches $600 Compute Module 5 Programming Jig for Bulk Provisioning
Raspberry Pi has launched the $600 Compute Module 5 Programming Jig, a dedicated tool for provisioning multiple Compute Module 5 units with OS installations and security configurations. The jig automates bulk provisioning by integrating with Raspberry Pi's rpi-image-gen and rpi-sb-provisioner software, allowing developers to configure secure boot, disk encryption, and OS deployment through a single-head system with Ethernet and USB ports. The device requires minimal interaction: inserting the module and clamping it initiates automated programming, indicated by status LEDs. Compatibility extends to Raspberry Pi Imager v2.0.11 for custom OS configurations. This tool addresses scale-up challenges in product development, eliminating manual steps for mass deployments. By standardizing on Raspberry Pi's existing software stack, it ensures alignment with ongoing platform updates, including Raspberry Pi Connect and security enhancements. Documentation and purchasing are available through approved resellers.
